Loyola's Michael Ferguson Named to Soccer America's National Team of the Week

Loyola University's Michael Ferguson was named to the Soccer America National Team of the Week for the second time in three weeks, it was announced today. The sophomore forward also captured Horizon League Player of the Week accolades for his weekend performance, in which he scored a total of four goals. Soccer America's Team of the Week honors the top 11 performers around the nation for their efforts over the previous week. To be among those recognized is considered one of the top honors available during the regular season. The Overland Park, Kan., native scored four goals over the weekend including his second hat trick of the season on Friday night in a 3-0 victory over Horizon League foe, Wright State. Ferguson owns a League-high 12 goals on the season, which is good for third all-time on Loyola's single-season goal list. He is also ranked third in the NCAA men's soccer national rankings with 0.92 goals per game. Ferguson has helped the Ramblers to a 7-3-3 overall record and a 3-0-2 Horizon League mark, scoring 71% of Loyola's goals this season. He also tops the Horizon League charts in points (25), while ranking fifth in the NCAA with 1.92 points per game. The Ramblers travel to Milwaukee on Thursday, October 18 when they take on Horizon League rival Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m.
