Women Place 23rd and Men Place 25th at Roy Griak Invite

MINNEAPOLIS - Sophomore Ashley Raymond and senior Sam Romanoski led the Ramblers for the third consecutive meet, helping the women's team finish 23rd out of 30 and the men place 25th out of 34 in the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday at Les Bolstad Golf Course. Raymond placed 76th overall in the individual standings by completing the 6k course in 23:02.45. Senior Amanda Domich followed in 23:28.90 to finish 102nd while classmate Maureeca Lambert finished 110th (23:34.95). Jessie Morgenthal and Genevieve Binnie rounded out the scoring for Loyola. Morgentahl place 143rd (24:07.65) and Binnie was 160th (24:25.60). Other Rambler finishers included Rachel Hansen in 24:26.60 (162nd), Gada Qafisheh in 24:54.60 (175th) and Pam Staton in 235th (25:08.05). Romanoski was the lone Loyola men's runner to finish among the top 100 individuals. The Lake Zurich, Ill. native finished the 8k course in 25:38.35 for a 38th-place finish. Senior Andy Sbertoli was the next highest Rambler finisher, completing the course in 26:21.90 for 108th place. Shawn Lucas followed with a time of 26:53.55 for 158th place while John Walter and Brent Cunningham rounded out the Loyola scoring. Walter finished 200th in 27:49.45 then Cunningham was 208th, finishing in 28:03.10. Sophomore Phil Siwinski clocked in at 31:07.05 for a 234th-place finish. Loyola hosts the 34th annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30th at the Montrose Avenue Beach.
