Lambert Grabs First at the Notre Dame Invitational

Edmund Blankson has two strong finishes
Chicago, Ill. (January 30, 2005) – The men’s and women’s track teams competed in the Notre Dame Invitational Saturday afternoon, setting many new personal bests. The Ramblers competed against five other universities which included Notre Dame, DePaul, Marquette, Butler and Grand Valley.
Sophomore Maureeca Lambert took first place in the women’s 3000m run with a mark of 9:50.93, a new personal best and landing her fifth all-time at Loyola. Amanda Domich finished close behind Lambert in 6th place with a time of 10:12.76. Junior Anna Hinterschied set a new personal best in the 800m run after clocking in at 2:17.20 for a 6th place finish. In the 60m hurdles the Ramblers finished in 4th with Kristin Brezski, who set a new best with 9.68, and in 5th with Andrea Shamp’s mark of 10.79.
On the men’s side at the Invitational Edmund Blankson had a team-high finish of 5th place in the men’s 60m dash (7.12) and a 4th place finish in the 200m dash (22.28, new personal best). Chad Tredway took 5th place in the 400m dash, clocking in at 49.89. In the field events, Laith Hoffarth competed in the high jump grabbing third place (1.91m) and Ryan Ferros finished third in the long jump with a mark of 5.74m.
The teams will travel to the Iowa State Classic on February 11 after they host Loyola’s Battle of the Board this weekend, February 5th.
