Loyola Track and Field Competes At Stanford Invitational
April 1, 2006 PALO ALTO, Calif. - Several members of the Loyola University Chicago track and field team competed on March 31 at the Stanford Invitational, which featured over 4,000 student-athletes. No team scores were recorded as there are more than 200 teams competing in this weekend's meet. Freshman Ashley Raymond (Wheaton, Ill.) led the Ramblers with an 11th-place finish in the fourth section of the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:22.19. Junior Amanda Domich (Algonquin, Ill.) finished 23rd in the second section of the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:55.09, while senior Andrew McQuillan (Geneva, Ill.) placed 23 rd in fourth section of the men's 5,000m at a time of 15:11.01. Senior Shawn Lucas (Elgin, Ill.) finished 20th in the B section of the men's 1,500m run with a time of 3:57.89. Lucas was joined by fellow seniors Chris Morris (39th - 3:58.73) and Eduardo Borjon (46th - 4:01.84), and junior Brent Cunningham (51st - 4:03.22) in the event. Senior Robert Wade (Portlaw, Ireland) placed 31st in the second section of the 10,000m at a time of 30:26.07 and fellow classmate Anna Hinterschied (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) took 40th place in the women's 1,500 with a time of 4:56.44. The Ramblers return to action April 6 at the annual Chicagoland Championships, held at North Central College in Naperville. |
