Ramblers Register Six First-Place Finishes at UW-Milwaukee Double Dual

MILWAUKEE - The Loyola University Chicago indoor track and field team competed against Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Illinois-Chicago in the UW-Milwaukee Double Duals on Friday night. Six Ramblers registered six first-place finishes in the final competition before the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Jesse Morgenthal finished first in the mile with a time of 5:19.73. Sophomore Pam Staton placed first in the 800-meter dash in 2:20.16 and was followed by freshman Jena Brown (2:23.72) and Morgenthal (2:25.69). Senior Marcia Faustin recorded a first-place finish with a 1.66-meter high jump.

On the men's side, senior Shawn Lucas finished first in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:34.17. Loyola's 4x400-meter relay team finished first with a time of 3:31. 57 while freshman Jamar Johnson took first with a personal-best 6.85-meter effort in the long jump.

The Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships are next Saturday and Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich.
