  • Louisville's win is the first MCWS win by a first-time participant since Tulane in 2001.

  • Louisville's win is the second by a Big East member since the league was formed in 1985, joining Notre Dame, which went 1-2 in 2002.

  • Louisville becomes the first time a team to reach double figures in its first two MCWS games since Tennessee in 2001. That year, the Vols reached double figures in each of its first three MCWS games - the only time it has happened in MCWS history.

  • Louisville is only the fifth school to score double figures in each of its first two MCWS games (accomplished six times), joining Tennessee (2001), LSU (1998 and 2000) and USC (1998) and Arizona State (1965).

  • Louisville is hitting .370 (148-for-400) and averaging 9.9 runs and 14.8 hits per game during the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals have reached double figures in five of its 10 NCAA contests.

  • Louisville's four homers today marks the 20th time this season that the Cardinal has hit at least two homers in a game this season.

  • Chris Dominguez became the second Louisville player to have a multi-homer game in the MCWS, belting his 14th and 15th homers of the season. It is the 51st time in the MCWS history - and second time in 2007 - that a player has hit two homers in a game. In addition to the 50 two-homer games, three other players have hit three homers in a game at the MCWS.

  • Chris Dominguez is hitting .350 (14-for-40) with has eight homers and 19 RBIs during the NCAA Tournament and has had at least one homer in six of his last eight contests.

  • Chris Dominguez now has three multi-homer games this season, including two in the NCAA Tournament. He also had multi-homer games against Cincinnati on May 19 and against Missouri on June 4.

  • Logan Johnson and Chris Dominguez both have three homers apiece in the MCWS, which is one shy of the MCWS single-series record.

  • With his win today, Louisville's Justin Marks now has nine runs on the season, a total that ranks fourth on the Cardinals' single-year list.

  • With 12 runs today, Louisville reached double figures in runs for the 21st time this season and is 19-2 when scoring at least 10 runs. The other time it happened was a 12-10 loss to Rutgers in the Big East Tournament on May 25.
