Dec. 8, 2003 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University sophomore guard Shante Glenn (Chicago, Ill./Lourdes H.S.) was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week December 8. Glenn was the driving force as Lewis defeated back-to-back nationally ranked teams in No. 10 Northern Kentucky and No. 11 Bellarmine. Overall, she led the team to a 3-0 week, averaging 16.0 points per game and shooting 61.3 percent from the field. Glenn scored 14 points on 5-7 shooting and collected six assists as Lewis defeated Northern Kentucky, 87-74. Two days later, she hit the game-winning basket with four seconds remaining to lift the Flyers past Bellarmine, 71-68. She scored 17 points against the Knights on 6-13 shooting and collected six assists. Earlier in the week, the 5-5 guard scored 17 points on 8-11 shooting and added seven rebounds and six assists as Lewis picked up a road victory at St. Joseph's, 81-68. For the week, she averaged 16.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and shot 61.3 percent (19-31) from the field and 83.3 percent (10-12) from the charity stripe.
