Nov. 17, 2003 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Mary Moskal, a freshman on Lewis University's women's basketball team, was named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week November 17. Moskal earned the award after producing a near flawless collegiate debut. Against Ferris State the 5-9 guard went 11-of-11 from the field and was 2-of-3 from the free throw line for 24 points. She missed her first free throw at 19:44 in the first half, but after that did not miss a shot the rest of the game. She added four rebounds, an assist and two blocked shots in the Flyers' season opening 67-62 loss to Ferris State. Moskal shared Player of the Week honors with Southern Indiana's Kennitra Johnson. Johnson scored 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 4-of-5 from 3-point range in USI's 91-86 victory over Pittsburgh State. 11/17/03 |
