The Flyers opened a 13-0 lead to start the game and never trailed the entire night. The Cardinals went 0-for-8 from the floor during the game's first four and a half minutes.

Lewis maintained a sizable advantage for the next several minutes, leading by as many as 15 points at 11:49 after a layup from Mooberry, but Wheeling Jesuit outscored Lewis 19-10 the rest of the half to cut Lewis' lead to six at the break.

The Cardinals kept within striking distance of the Flyers in the opening minutes of the second half, cutting Lewis' lead to six points three times, but they couldn't get any closer than that.
