Men's Volleyball Match vs. BYU to be Televised on CSTV

March 24, 2004

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University's men's volleyball match against No. 1-ranked BYU will be televised live on CSTV: College Sports Television March 26 at 10 p.m. CST.

The match pits the Flyers and Cougars in a rematch of the 2003 NCAA Men's Collegiate Volleyball Championship. Lewis won the classic battle in five games to become the first NCAA Division II and first Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association school to win the national championship.

This will be the second time that Lewis has had a match televised by CSTV-the Flyers' 2003 MIVA Tournament Championship victory over Loyola was also covered by the network.

"Since launching in April 2003, College Sports TV has televised more college volleyball than any other network," said Tim Pernetti, vice president, programming, College Sports TV. "Similar to our womens' college volleyball coverage last fall, our goal this spring is to provide unparalleled national television exposure for the 'best of the best' of men's college volleyball."

CSTV, the first 24-hour college sports network, is available to more than 15 million homes nationally on cable and satellite. The network is available on Adelphia and Insight cable systems, among others, and is also available on DirecTV (channel 610). For information on CSTV availability in particular markets, consumers can log on to www.cstv.com or call their cable or satellite operator.

BYU began the season ranked No. 8 in the nation and has ascended to the nation's No. 1 ranking. The Cougars are 17-3 overall and have held the top spot for the past three weeks.

Lewis was ranked No. 4 in the first American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, but has since fallen out of the top-15 rankings. The Flyers spent 133 weeks in the top-15 poll before bowing out three weeks ago.

The Flyers are 12-10 overall and 8-3 in the MIVA. The team is tied with conference-leading IPFW in the win column, but trails the Mastodons by two games in the loss column.
