May 1, 2006 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University will host the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Great Lakes/Central Super Regional May 1-3 at Prairie Bluff Golf Club in Lockport. The Great Lakes/Central tournament is one of five 54-hole super regionals in Division II men's golf. Eight teams and five individuals from each region (a total of 90 golfers) will compete on Prairie Bluff's par-72, 6,893-yard layout for the right to advance to the 72-hole NCAA Division II Championship, scheduled for May 16-19 at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia. Play begins at 8 a.m. each day, and admission is free. The top team from each region within the super regional will advance to the NCAA Championship, as will the leader among the 10 individuals not participating on any of the 16 teams. A total of 20 teams will advance to the national tournament. Joining the 10 regional champions that emerge from the five super regionals will be four additional teams from the West/Northwest super regional and three additional teams each from the Atlantic/Southeast and South/South Central super regionals. |
