July 15, 2005 ROMEOVILLE - Clinton Joshua, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward from Spoon River College, has announced his intention to play basketball at Lewis University next season. Joshua, a native of Antigua, West Indies who has two seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining, averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds per game in two seasons at Spoon River. He helped lead the team to a 25-7 record and the Collegiate Conference of Central Illinois championship in the 2004-05 campaign. "Clinton gives us a much-needed athlete on the front line," Lewis Head Coach Kyle Green said. "His ability to run the floor, defend and rebound will make an immediate impact on our program. "Clinton comes to Lewis from an exceptionally strong junior-college program where he was very well coached by Jon Grzanich," Green added. Joshua joins freshmen Adam Hickerson (Andrew H.S.), Ryan Sharp (Plainfield Central H.S.), Marcus Scott (Proviso East H.S.) and Brandon Dagans (Thornton H.S.) and transfer Stephan Bolt (Lipscomb University) in the Flyers' 2005 recruiting class. |
