Jan. 28, 2004 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University remained No. 1 in this week's NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region men's basketball rankings despite a loss to Kentucky Wesleyan last Saturday. The Flyers (16-2) dropped three places to No. 15 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches/Division II Bulletin national poll. The region poll has five teams each from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Indianapolis (GLVC) is No. 2, followed by Michigan Tech (GLIAC), Southern Indiana (GLVC), Mercyhurst (GLIAC), Northern Kentucky (GLVC), Findlay (GLIAC), Gannon (GLIAC), Kentucky Wesleyan (GLVC) and Wayne State (GLIAC). In the national poll, Southern Indiana is rated 12th, Lewis 15th, Michigan Tech 16th and Indianapolis 20th. Lewis is 10-1 in GLVC play and owns a two-game lead over Indianapolis and Southern Indiana. The Flyers host Missouri-St. Louis Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Quincy Saturday at 3 p.m. |
