NAPERVILLE - Dave Dobersztyn's victories in the 100 meters and 200 meters led the Lewis University men's track and field team to third place at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships.

Andy Tremble won the 5,000 meters and Mike Eck and Dan Probst registered runner-up finishes in the 800 meters and discus throw, respectively, as the Flyers tallied 79 points.

Dobersztyn ran :10.71 in the 100 and :21.73 in the 200, and Tremble clocked a 14:52.0 in the 5,000. Eck posted a 1:54.78, and Probst turned in a toss of 151-4.

Adrian Myers (1:55.17) finished third and Emory Burdette (1:55.22) placed fourth in the 800. Jeff Zoellick (13-11¼) and Brian Finch (13-5¼) were third and fourth, respectively, in the pole vault.

Also scoring for the Lewis men were the 4x400-meter relay team (third, 3:21.42), Zoellick in the high jump (sixth, 5-10) and Andrew Northrup in the 5,000 meters (seventh, 15:15.03).

Kaydie King enjoyed the top finish for the Lewis women, tying for fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.11). King also was fifth in the heptathlon (4,138 points) and seventh in the javelin throw (110-3) for the Flyers, who finished 10th with 35½ points.

Alyssa Hancock placed fifth in the 200 meters (:26.40) and sixth in the 100 meters (:12.65). Other double-scorers were Terran Wertz, sixth in the 1,500 meters (4:44.99) and eighth in the 800 meters (2:19.22), and Millennium Wheeler, sixth in the triple jump (34-9¾) and eighth in the long jump (16-0¼).

Theresa Dexl finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:54.0), Katie Barney was fifth in the long jump (16-7¾) and the 4x400-meter relay team placed eighth (4:14.34). Pole-vaulter Erin Mitchell finished out of the scoring in a ninth-place tie but vaulted a school-record 9-9¼.
