STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The Lewis track and field teams got NCAA Division II provisional qualifying performances from Terran Wertz and the men's 4x400-meter relay team Saturday at the Pointer Qualifier hosted by Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Wertz finished third in the 800 meters with a provisional clocking of 2:17.15, while the 4x400 relay quartet of J'ean Middleton, Mike Eck, Geoff Rozovics and Brian Barrett placed second in a provisional-qualifying 3:18.59. Three Flyers just missed the provisional standard in their events. Katie Barney won the long jump (17-11¾, PQ is 18-1), Byron Toliver finished second in the 55 meters (:06.48, PQ is :06.42) and Rozovics placed second in the 400 meters (:49.75, PQ is :49.50). Alyssa Hancock was second in the 55 meters (:07.36), Dan Probst finished fifth in the 35-pound weight throw (53-0¾) and Middleton placed sixth in the 400 meters (:50.93). |
