McKeon on Offense, Judge on Defense Not Enough to Take the Tigers
Posted by: Sue Senner LEWISBURG, PA - On day one of the Bucknell Invitational, the La Salle Explorer volleyball team took on the Princeton Tigers at Davis Gym. The Explorers fell in three straight games by scores of 30-25, 30-20, 30-20. La Salle drops to 4-7 while the Tigers remain unbeated at 4-0. Amy McKeon sparked La Salle's offense, landing a team-high 12 kills in the three-game match. McKeon was one of two Explorers' hitters to hit over .200 in the match. Hitting .241 on 12 kills, five errors and 29 attempts, freshman Danielle DiMarco came off the bench to hit .222 (7 kills, 3 errors, 18 attempts). Setter Caitlin Conner tallied 31 assists for the three games and dropped three kills on the Tigers. Carolyn Judge posted a match-high 21 digs and Erin Sullivan added 13 for the Explorers. McKeon and Jackie Kushman each earned a solo bloc, while Stephanie Owen and Conner teamed-up for a pair of blocks. Princeton was led by Lindsay Ensign with a match-best 15 kills, while Parker Henritze dropped 11 kills in the match. Setter Bailey Robinson assisted on 35 of Princeton's 44 kills. On defense, the Tigers got 15 digs from Emily Turner, 14 from Sheena Donohue and 11 from Henritze. Ensign put on a performance at the net with one solo and six assisted blocks. The Explorers will return to action for the final day of the Bucknell Invitation, taking on Bucknell at 10:00 a.m. followed by xxxx at 4:30 p.m.
