Guagenti Makes Another All-Region Team
PHILADELPHIA - Soccer Buzz Magazine released its All-Regional teams Dec. 12, and La Salle University Jenna Guagenti has been selected to the All Mid-Atlantic Third Team for the 2006 season.
It is the second time that Guagenti has been recognized by the organization, as she was selected to the All-Freshmen Mid-Atlantic Region Team after the 2004 season. The junior defender anchored a defense that had a 0.94 goals allowed average in conference games only, which was the second-best mark, and had an overall 1.24 GAA with five total shutouts for the season. She contributed on the offensive end as well scoring the game-winning goal at Dayton and registering four assists, which also included a three-game point streak. She becomes only the second Explorer to be selected to multiple Soccer Buzz postseason teams, as Amy Schneider (1999 - All-Freshmen; 2000 - Second; and 2001 - Third Team) was a three-time selection. Dana Gavaghan (1999 - Second Team) is the only other player from La Salle to be selected once. Earlier this season, she became only the fourth La Salle player named Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference, joining Laura Winchester (1996), Dana Gavaghan (1999), Tracey Spinelli (2000), and Amy Schneider (2001). She also became only the third Explorer to be recognized by the NCSAA, as both Tracey Spinelli (2000 - Third Team), and Amy Schneider (2001 - Second Team) have also been honored by that Association. |
