Men's Tennis Earns 4-3 Win Over Cabrini

For the second day in a row the La Salle Men's Tennis team continued it's dominance with a 4-3 victory over In singles, the Explorers used their superb conditioning to outlast Cabrini. At #1 singles, Eric Glick lost a tightly contested match that lasted just over two hours, 7-5, 4-6 (10-8) to Cavalier freshman Ming Luo. The scoreboard read identical at the #2 singles slot with Cavalier Justin Walsh overwhelming La Salle's Matt Rivera 7-5 4-6 (10-8). The Explorers owned the #3-#5 matches only dropping two games combined. Jon Maula won at #3, 6-2, 6-0, while Andy Petrusky and Chris Butera both bageled their opponents, winning 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the fourth and deciding point for the Explorers. The Cavalier's Duff O'Connor won by default at #6 singles over Corey Hanson. "All in all the difference in this match was conditioning," said Explorers head coach Ed Colfer. "Our guys have been working hard these past two weeks in practice to get into shape for matches in this extreme heat. I'm pleased with our progress this weekend and look forward to getting this kind of effort from our guys in our next twenty matches."
