Philadelphia, PA - La Salle basketball junior guard Darnell Harris (Baltimore, MD/St. Frances Academy) was named second-team All-Big 5 as announced by the Herb Good Basketball Club (an affililiate of the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association) on Tuesday afternoon.
Harris led the Explorers with an average of 14.2 points per game and shot .412 from the three-point arc with a team-high of 82 treys made on the season. He also connected on 80% of his free throws.
Penn's Ibrahim Jaaber was named Big 5 Player of the Year. Also named to the All-Big Five first team were teammate Mark Zoller, Villanova's Curtis Sumpter and Scottie Reynolds, Temple's Dionte Christmas and Ahmad Nivins of Saint Joseph's.
Joining Harris on the second team wereTemple's Mark Tyndale and Dustin Salisbery, Villanova's Mike Nardi and Pat Calathes of Saint Joseph's.
Honorees will be formally recognized at the annual Herb Good banquet to be held Monday, April 23rd at Colleen's on the Parkway (22nd and The Parkway).
