SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Lamar University women's tennis team returns to action on Friday and Saturday, taking on the Texas State Bobcats in San Marcos on Friday, and the UT-Arlington Lady Mavs on Saturday in Arlington

Lamar opens the pivotal weekend series against Texas State on Friday afternoon at 10 a.m. and wrap up play in Arlington with a 9 a.m. match on Saturday. Lamar enters Friday's match with a 9-8 overall record, and a 4-2 mark in SLC play. The Bobcats are 5-2 in conference play and 9-5 overall, while UTA is 10-2 overall and 7-1 in conference.

Lamar is led by Kaltrina Harbuzi who has posted an 11-5 record at No. 1 singles, while Manijee Ashrafi has gone 11-2 playing at three, four and five. Maria Gutierrez has also been solid for the Lady Cards, posting a 9-4 record, while playing predominantly at No. 2.
