Kasagule Set to Run at Alex Wilson Invitational

SOUT BEND, Ind. - Lamar University freshman Francis Kasagule will head to South Bend, Ind. for the Alex Wilson Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame on Friday and Saturday, in an attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championship.

Kasagule will participate in the 3,000 meter run, which is set to begin at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday. He enters the meet with the 18th fastest 3,000 meter time in the NCAA this season, a 7:57.91 performance he turned in at the Terrier Invitational on January 27 in Boston, Mass. The runners with the top 15 fastest times or the automatic qualifying time of 7:54 will qualify for the NCAA Championship.

The field of competitors at the Alex Wilson will be comprised of legitimate NCAA hopefuls, that are hoping to punch their ticket to the championships on March 10 and 11 in Fayetteville, Ark.
