BEAUMONT - Senior William Delage tossed a one-hit shutout and senior C.J. Ebarb went 3-for-4 with five runs batted in to provide the offense as Lamar blanked Texas-Pan American 10-0 Sunday afternoon at Vincent-Beck Stadium.

Lamar improved to 3-2 on the season and UTPA dropped to 3-4. The Cardinals, who won 6-1 on Saturday, will go for the three-game sweep Monday at 1 p.m. Junior Derrick Gordon, who is 0-0 with a 10.80 earned run average, will get the start for the Cardinals. Aaron Guerra (1-1, 10.29 ERA) is expected to start for the Broncs.

Leading 5-0 entering the home half of the seventh inning, Collin Delome led off the inning with a triple to left field. Michael Ambort followed with a single to left to drive in DeLome. Dan Hernandez was hit by a pitch and Ryan Baker singled to center field to load the bases with no outs.

Ambort scored on a wild pitch by reliever Dane Mason and Ebarb followed with a 3-run home run to left field to put Lamar up 10-0. That's when the game ended due to the 10-run rule after seven innings that was agreed upon by both coaches prior to the start of the game.

Delage (1-0) was dominant from the beginning, setting down the first nine Bronc hitters in order. In seven innings pitched, he allowed just one hit with a season-high nine strikeouts and one walk. Just one UTPA base runner advanced as far as second base. It was Delage's second career shutout and third career complete-game.

Lamar started the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Erik Kanaby led off the inning with a single up the middle. Collin Delome followed with a single to center and Michael Ambort drew a walk to load the bases with no outs.

DeLome, who was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, extended the Cardinals' to 5-0 with a two-out, solo home run to deep right center in the bottom of the second inning off UTPA starter Ray Silva (1-1).

Baker was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Ambort is starting to get untracked offensively, going 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
