Volleyball Tilt with Savannah State Cancelled
Sept. 20, 2007
KENNESAW, Ga.--Due to a scheduling conflict, the volleyball match between the Owls and Savannah State University scheduled for October 5 has been cancelled. The match was to take place at the KSU Convocaton Center at 7:00 p.m. However, according to Kennesaw State head coach Valerie Jones, the Tigers have asked for the match to be cancelled because of an overscheduling issue. "Savannah State's original schedule had 32 dates of competition on it. The NCAA only allows teams 28 dates of competition during the regular season," said Coach Jones. "In order to be compliant with the NCAA, Savannah State had to cancel four matches. Unfortunately, our match October 5 was one of them." The Owls were slated to host three in-state rivals that week, starting with Georgia State on October 2 and concluding with Mercer on October 6. Those two matches will still take place at their previously scheduled times. The Black and Gold will take to their home court this Saturday when they face Belmont in the Atlantic Sun Conference opener for both teams. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. |
