ATLANTA, Georgia - May 12, 2006 - Freshman Erin Sutton posted the best finish of the evening for the Owls as Kennesaw State competed in the 2006 Georgia Tech Invitational at the George C. Griffin Track on Friday evening.

Sutton finished in 14th place in the 5000 meter run, running after suffering through cold symptoms for the better part of this week. The true freshman stayed with the pack for nine of the 12 laps before fading to finish with a time of 18:37.86.

"Erin ran a nice race tonight and did a good job battling throughout the race," said head coach Don McGarey.

Tara Mooney finished in 16th place, finishing with a time of 19:11.15. Kim Garner competed in the 1500 meter run and finished in 33rd position with a time of 5:22.57.

Day two of the 2006 Georgia Tech Invitational will take place all day Saturday at Griffin Track.
