Nolan Named A-Sun Player of the Week

MACON, Georgia - March 20, 2006 - Kennesaw State third baseman Jennifer Nolan was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week in an announcement made by the league offices on Monday afternoon.

Nolan, a junior from Woodstock, Georgia, hit .667 (8-for-12) in four games as she helped lead Kennesaw State to a perfect record last week with wins over Furman and East Tennessee State.

Half of Nolan's eight hits were doubles as she hit safely in all four game in which she played. In addition, she drove in eight runs and scored six runs scored while amassing 12 total bases. She posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .714 on base percentage as she helped the Owls to wins in 10 of their last 11 games.

Nolan began the week going 6-for-6 in a doubleheader against Furman. The right-handed hitting infielder reached base all eight times she came to bat. She went 4-for-4 day with a double and four RBI in the opener before going 2-for-2 with a pair of walks, two doubles and three RBI in the nightcap.

Against East Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon, Nolan collected a pair of hits while scoring twice and driving in a run during another KSU sweep. Nolan has hit safely in five consecutive games and is hitting .351 on the year while leading the league with seven home runs and 38 runs batted in.

Nolan becomes the second KSU player to receive an A-Sun honor this season. Lisa Lamb was named the conference Pitcher of the Week on March 6.
