Owls to Host KSU Classic

KENNESAW, Georgia - February 21, 2006 - After beginning the season on the road, the Owls are finally back at home in the friendly confines of Owls Field as they begin the home schedule by hosting the 2006 KSU Classic.

The two-day, eight-game event begins on Friday at noon and concludes on Saturday evening with the championship game. Joining the Owls in this year's field will be Tennessee Tech, from the Ohio Valley Conference, Toledo from the Mid-American Conference and UNC Greensboro from the Southern Conference.

UNC Greensboro and Toledo are making their first trips to Kennesaw State while the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech will be making their second regular season trip to campus. The Owls are 2-0 against Tech all-time, sweeping a doubleheader from the Golden Eagles in 1999. Last season the Golden Eagles finished second in the OVC, five games behind Jacksonville State.

The Owls will be playing their second OVC team this season, earlier this season KSU split a pair of games against Samford. UNC Greensboro is the second Southern Conference team the Owls have faced this season, KSU swept Georgia Southern on Opening Day. This will be the first meeting between Kennesaw State and a school from the MAC.
