McCALLA, Ala. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team fired an opening round 333 at the Ann Rhoads Shootout hosted by Birmingham Southern on Monday afternoon.

The host Panthers shot the low round of the day, a 15 over-par 303 to lead Belmont University by seven shots, while the Owls are in 18th place, 30 shots back, in the 21-team field.

Senior Erin Campbell led the way for the Owls firing a 77 (+5) to sit in a tie for 13th. Campbell was the Owls low finisher at this event last year finishing in a tie for 13th place.

Jill Stupiansky of host Birmingham Southern and Ashley Ratcliff of Newberry College are co-leading the tournament with identical scores of 73 (+1).

Also scoring for the Owls are Rachael Williams with an 81 (+9) to sit in a tie for 39th. Sharon Lewin fired an opening round 87 (+15) while Chelsea Bonk fired a 16 over par 88. Abby Fitzgerald rounded out the scoring with a 93 (+21). Lindsay Hagerman, playing as an individual, shot an opening 88 to tie Bonk.

The Owls will finish up play Tuesday starting at 9 A.M. CST.

Bent Brook Golf Course plays to a par of 72 at 6261 yards.
