AUBURN, Alabama-- Senior Jason Waters was the top runner for the Owls who had to fight some wet conditions as the course was soaked from heavy rains in the area all day on Friday. The Owls finished 14th in the 13th Annual Auburn Invitational meet October 8, at the Indian Pines Golf Course in Auburn, Alabama.

Waters finished 21st (24:37), junior Lukasz Skrzypiec finished 52nd (25:15) and junior Matthew Coy ran 26:04 finishing in 102 out of the 209 runners.

With an average time of 25:43, the men finished with 376 points. The Owls (50-16 overall, 11-12) finished just three points behind Samford who collected 373 points to finish in 13th place.

The host team Auburn, won the meet with an average time of 24:30, and 99 total points.

The three-time Sun-Belt Conference Runner of the Week, junior Rono Vincent from South Alabama (23:33), was the overall winner in the men's 8K.

The Owls will compete in the Georgia State Invitational in Panthersville, Ga., Saturday October 15, at 8 a.m.
