Stan Sims is back for his 14th season as head cross country coach of the Kennesaw State Owls. Arguably the top coach in South and one of the country's premiere coaches, Sims has taken Kennesaw State's cross country program to nationwide prominence. The success of Coach Sims and the Owls began with the 1994 season when debuted as the head man and promptly took home the Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year honor. From that point, Sims captured the award seven times, including a record four times in a row from 2001-2004 and three in a row from 1994-96. In 2005, Sims led his Owls to an Atlantic Sun Championship in just their first year in the league. A dedicated tactician and inspirational coach, Sims is a players' coach who commands and gets respect from his runners. His professional charisma has led to a unique blend of international and local talent which dots the Kennesaw State roster. When not coaching, Sims is a respected professor of Mathematics at Kennesaw State. A graduate of the University of Florida, Sims is married to respected Mathematics Professor Marlene. The couple makes their home is Kennesaw. |
