KSU Looks to Return to Winning Ways

KENNESAW, Ga.--Kennesaw State's men's basketball team hits the hardwood this Saturday night as it hosts Clark Atlanta University (2-2) at the KSU Convocation Center Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m., as the Owls (1-5) look for their second win of the young season after a heartbreaking loss to Florida A&M two weeks ago.

Senior forward Ronell Wooten, who is averaging nearly 17 points per game, leads the Owls' charge against the Panthers, who last visited Kennesaw on November 26, 2005. On that night, the Owls beat Clark-Atlanta 76-54 in the first regular season home game played at the Convocation Center.

Shuan Stegall is averaging 14.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest. The senior earned a double-double, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in KSU's loss to the Rattlers on November 24. Wooten contributed a game-high 28 points in the effort, including four three-pointers.

KSU's last victory came in the opening round of the 100 Club Classic against Jacksonville State on November 16. In the three losses that have followed, the Owls have allowed their opponents to score over 80 points per contest.

Clark Atlanta has dropped a pair of games after winning the first two of the season. In their last outing, the Panthers fell 55-50 to Claflin University in Orangeburg, S.C. The last victory for CAU came in the form of a 75-73 victory over Stillman College. Najee Lane, Ale Burt and Kevin Johnson each scored in double-figures for the Panthers, with Lane leading the way with 22.
