Ingle Announces New Staff for 05-06

KENNESAW, Georgia - September 1, 2005 - Kennesaw State men's basketball head coach Tony Ingle has announced on Thursday that Evan Black and Montez Robinson have been named assistant coaches for the 2005-06 season and that Gary Dyksterhouse has been promoted to assistant coach.

"We have brought in a pair of very good coaches," smiled the effervescent mentor of the Owls as he spoke of his new staff. "Going to Division I and the Atlantic Sun Conference this season we need some coaches who are going to roll up their sleeves and go to work. They young men along with Gary, are enthusiastic, energetic and motivated and will do a great job here."

Black is a native of Woodstock, Georgia who played basketball at Etowah High School before enjoying a collegiate career at Middle Georgia Junior College and Oral Roberts University.

"I have known Evan for nearly twenty years," added Ingle. "He was a scrappy player who had to work hard for everything he had. It says a great deal about his character and his desire."

"It is an honor to work at Kennesaw State under Coach Ingle," said Black. "Coach is a winner who has developed a winning program here and I am excited that he chose me to be a part of his staff."

Robinson, a native of Fairfield, Alabama, played his prep ball at Fairfield High School before playing junior college ball at Kemper Military College in Booneville, Missouri. He finished his collegiate career at North Georgia.

"I have known Montez for a number of years," Ingle said. "He has a tremendous amount of energy and drive. He worked our camps this summer and I was impressed by how hard he worked."

"This is a tremendous opportunity for me," said Robinson. "Working with Coach Ingle and being a part of his staff is a thrill. With his values, the success of his program and the excitement of playing Division I basketball is a great opportunity."

Dyksterhouse has been with Ingle for the past two years and was named Director of Basketball Operations before being promoted.

"I am so proud of Gary," said Ingle. "He has made sacrifice after sacrifice and I am truly happy for him."

"I am thankful that Coach Ingle gave me an opportunity to coach two years ago," said Dyksterhouse. "As his assistant, I look forward to help continue the winning tradition that Coach Ingle has put in place."

Ingle made the announcement after three of his top assistants from last season accepted coaching positions at institutions last month.

"It hasn't been a fun time for us in August," said Ingle on the departure of Stace Tedford, Jeff Jones and Greg Matta. "But, I am so happy and proud of all three of those men and I am happy that our program has produced such quality coaches and men of character."

Jones took the head coaching job at Southern Polytechnic in Marietta, Georgia while Tedford and Matta accepted positions at the American School in Alabama and Greater Atlantic Christian.
