KENNESAW, Ga. - While former Kennesaw State great Willie Harris is enjoying a rebirth in Atlanta with the Braves, three former Kennesaw State players are making a name for themselves in the minor leagues and are looking to join Harris on a big league club this season.

Former Kennesaw State standouts Lloyd Turner, Brett Campbell and Jason Childers are all spending the summer playing high-level minor league baseball. Turner and Childers are playing Triple-A ball this season while Campbell is beginning the year in Double-A.

Turner, an infielder for the Owls, is playing in the Oakland Athletics organization and is currently with the Sacramento River Cats of the Pacific Coast League.

Childers, a right-handed pitcher for Kennesaw State who played briefly with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays last season, is with the Charlotte Knights of the International League.

Campbell, who pitched and played third base for the Owls, made his major league debut with the Washington Nationals last September and is currently playing Double-A ball for the Harrisburg Senators of the Eastern League.

The Owls have had five former players make it to the major league including Harris, Childers, Campbell, Brian Mallette and Jason Jones.
