KENNESAW, Georgia - February 26, 2006 - Kennesaw State scored six runs in the third inning to give Boston College its first loss of the season in a 6-2 victory at Stillwell Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The win was KSU's first victory over an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent since they knocked off Georgia Tech 12-2 on May 7, 1987.

In the third inning, senior Ryan Perry (0-for-3) drew a one-out bases-loaded walk scoring Martin Baker (1-for-3) who reached on a walk as well, for the first run of the day for the Owls. Jay Morrow (3-for-3) followed with a single to right field scoring Matt Dallas (2-for-4) and then designated hitter Andy Hudson (1-for-4) hit his third double of the season bringing home both Perry and Scott Hendrix (2-for-5) to give the Owls a 4-1 lead.

Kennesaw State (4-5, overall) would go on to add two more runs in the frame when Boston College (6-1, overall) brought in Nick Asselin to finish the inning. With one out, Adam Cross hit a fly ball to centerfield that Pete Frates misplayed, scoring both Hudson and Morrow.

That would be all the scoring the Owls needed as Casey Rogers (1-0) came in and shut down the Eagles offense for the final five innings in relief of starter Kyle Muschara.

In Rogers' first win of the season, he threw five innings of scoreless ball, scattering only two hits and striking out two Eagles hitters.

Boston College scored first in the second inning when Johnny Ayers (2-for-4) lined a one-out single to center field and advanced to second when Shawn McGill (1-for-3) walked. Frates (1-for-2) followed with a single to score Ayers giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

The Eagles would add another run in the fourth inning when Ayers reached on a grounder deep in the hole at shortstop. After a walk to Frates, Ayers scored on an RBI-single to right field by Ryan Reynoso (1-for-2).

Kennesaw State's starter, Muschara, threw four innings giving up two runs on four hits and recorded three strike outs.

The Owls are back in action Tuesday in Jacksonville, Fla., when they take on Western Michigan at 7:00 p.m.
