KENNESAW, Georgia - April 19, 2006 - Kennesaw State All-American catcher and native Canadian Cambria McKay was one of 18 players selected to Softball Canada's Elite Team in an announcement made the organization earlier this week, McKay, the Owls starting catcher for the past four years, will join the Elite Team when they participate in the Ontario Tour, a mini series versus the Michigan Ice of the women's professional fastpitch league before finally culminating with the 2006 Canada Cup to be held July 1-9. The Brampton, Ontario native is one of six players representing Ontario on the squad which also features fourteen players who play on collegiate teams in the United States. Joining McKay as teammates on the Elite Team are fellow Atlantic Sun Conference players, Katie Rosentreter from Mercer and Megan Timpf from Campbell. McKay, who is a lifetime .300 hitter in college, is the all-time leader in home runs for Kennesaw State, holding the single-season mark of 20; she has hit 57 homers during her career.
