Johns Hopkins senior middle hitter Stephanie Kaliades (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) was named the Centennial Conference Volleyball Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Kaliades led the Blue Jays to a 3-0 win over Swarthmore Saturday with a team-high 20 digs and added 12 kills. Later in the day she recorded a team-best 17 kills and a .394 hitting percentage in the 3-0 victory over Dickinson, and tied for the team lead with 13 digs.
Kaliades leads Hopkins with 364 kills this season and ranks third in the league in kills per game. She also ranks second on the Blue Jays with 31 service aces and is fourth with 296 digs.
Kaliades, who shared the honor this week with Muhlenberg's Julie Lauro, ranks third all-time at Hopkins with 1,085 career kills. She and the Blue Jays will play their final home match of the season Wednesday when they host Washington College at 7 p.m. Hopkins enters the match with a 21-6 overall record and an 8-1 mark in the league, and has qualified for the conference tournament.
