JHU Women Finish Third in Dickinson Holiday Invitational Dec. 11, 2004
CARSILE, PA - The Johns Hopkins Indoor Track team competed in the Dickinson Holiday Invitational yesterday. The women's team collected 53 points to finish in thrid place, while the men finished in seventh with 33 points.
Both teams did the bulk of their scoring in the relays. The women's 4 x 1600 metter realy team came in second place, and collected eight points with a time of 23:09.18. On the men's side, the Blue Jays turned in a time of 19:15.51 to finish third, and collect six points. The men's 4 x 400 meter realy team finished in third place, collecting six points in a time of 3:37.87. The women posted a 1:58.79 mark in the 4 x 200 meter dash, good for fifth place and five points. Individually Jacci Clauss placed highest among all the Blue Jays. Her time of 11:33.65 was good for third in the 3000 meter run and six points. In the other distance event, the 1500 meter run, Anna Russell finished in fourth place with a time of 5:20.8, and was followed by Nichole Laskowski who finished in sixth with a time of 5:28.88. The two girls earned six and four points for the Blue Jays, respectivelly. Kathy Cain turned in a 1:07.00 clip in the 400 meter dash, which earned five points for JHU. For the men, the Blue Jays used two runners in the 3000 meter dash to score. Patrick Brandon and Luke Marianacci finished in sixth and seventh places, in times of 9:32.06 and 9:33.15, earning four and three points each. Tim Pruiett finished in fifth place in the 55 meter hurdles, collecting four points, while Jason Hortiato turned in a ninth place finish in the 1500 run in a time of 4:40.7, good for two points. The Blue Jays will return to action after the Christmas break on January 16, 2005 when they take part in the Delaware Open. - 30 -
