Results

ALLENTOWN, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's track team placed fifth and the men's team finished sixth at the 2005 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track Championships, which were hosted by Muhlenberg this past weekend. The women's finish tied for their best all-time finish at the championships, matching a fifth-place finish in 1997. The men had their best result since a fifth-place finish in 2001.

Leading the Blue Jay women was Andrea King's first-place finish in the shot put (37-1 3/4) and Giselle Joseph's third-place finish in the 200 meters (26.57). Hopkins finished with 69 points, while the host Mules won the meet with 173.50 points. Gettysburg (140), Dickinson (121), and Haverford (114) rounded out the top four. Last year the Hopkins women placed seventh with 65 points.

In the men's championship, Jason Duboyski placed second in the 400 hurdles (55.05) and the 4x100 team (43.02) also earned a silver medal to lead Hopkins. Tristan Thomas finished third in the 100 meters (11.22), as the Blue Jays collected 66 points. Haverford won the meet with 190 points, followed by Ursinus (128), Muhlenberg (120), Franklin & Marshall (84.50), and Dickinson (82.50). Last year the Hopkins men placed seventh with 40 points.
