BALTIMORE, MD - The honors continue to roll in for 2007 Johns Hopkins University graduate Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's), who has been named the IWLCA's Attacker of the Year. Key is the first Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse player to receive one of the IWLCA's position player awards since the Blue Jays moved to Division I status in 1999.

A two-time IWLCA First Team All-America selection, Key led the nation in scoring this season with 121 points on 67 goals and 54 assists. She is just the fourth player in school history, and first since 1994, to earn First Team All-America honors twice. A Second Team All-America pick as a sophomore, she is also just the fourth player in school history, and first Division I player, to earn All-America honors three times. Key was also a finalist for both the Tewaaraton Trophy and the Honda Sports Award as a senior.

Key's 121 points in 2007 shattered her own previous school record for points in a season at the Division I level (101 in 2006) and her goal and point totals were also single-season records. She holds the top four single-season point totals, the top three assist totals and the top two goal totals in school history.

The most decorated player in school history, Key finished her career with 24 school records and also left her mark in the NCAA record book. She ranks second in NCAA Division I history with 383 career points and 149 career assists. Her 234 career goals rank eighth in NCAA history, while her 5.47 points per game rank sixth. She is one of just two players in NCAA history with more than 225 career goals and 145 career assists.
