BALTIMORE, MD - Senior attacker Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's) was named the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week Monday after notching 21 points in two games last week. In addition, she broke three school records in Saturday's win over Oregon.
Key scored five goals and added three assists in a loss at #4 Maryland Wednesday night. On Saturday, she scored a school-record 13 points (6g, 7a) to lead the Blue Jays to a 20-4 over the Ducks at Homewood Field. She also broke the school Division I career goals record (200) and the all-time career assists record (125).
Key leads the team in goals (33), assists (30) and points (63). She is also tied for the lead in draw controls (21) and is tied for second with 16 ground balls. Key is also moving up the NCAA career points and assists list this season. She ranks tied for seventh in NCAA D-I history in points and sixth in assists.
The #13 Blue Jays return to action on Wednesday, March 28 when they host the #16 Penn Quakers at Homewood Field. The game is set to begin at 7:00 pm.
