The Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse team received 96 points and moved up two spots to No. 15 in this week's IWLCA Poll released Monday.
The Blue Jays are 5-0 this season, their best start in six seasons at the Division I level, and are 3-0 in the American Lacrosse Conference. Last week Hopkins defeated Towson, 14-12, Ohio University, 12-4, and No. 19 Ohio State, 13-5. Freshman Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's of Annapolis) led Hopkins with nine goals, five assists and 14 points last week, while senior Heidi Pearce (Chestertown, MD/St. Andrew's-DE) added six goals and an assist for seven points.
Princeton received all 15 first-place votes and is again ranked in the poll's top spot, followed by Georgetown, Notre Dame, Duke and Virginia. Loyola, Maryland, James Madison, Syracuse and Vanderbilt round out the top 10.
The Blue Jays host George Mason Wednesday at 5 p.m and No. 13 Boston University Sunday at 12 noon.
