BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins senior attacker Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's) surpassed the 300-career point mark on Wednesday afternoon in a 16-13 loss at the #10 Georgetown Hoyas. She is just the 15th player in NCAA Division I history to do so and currently ranks 13th with 304 career points. She is leading the Blue Jays in 2007 with 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists) in just six games.
Key reached 300 career points in just 56 games and is averaging 5.43 points for her career. That would rank her seventh all-time in NCAA DI history. Hopkins all-time leading scorer, she led the nation with 6.31 points per game in 2006 - the eighth highest single-season average in NCAA DI history. Key is also moving up the NCAA charts with 115 career assists. She currently ranks tied for ninth and is just four shy of moving into a tie for eighth place.
#12 Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, March 21 at #3 Maryland. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
