Baltimore, MD -
The Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse team remained at the No. 15 spot in this week's Brine/IWLCA poll released Tuesday.
The Blue Jays evened their record at 1-1 on Saturday with a 12-7 win over William & Mary. Junior attacker Heidi Pearce (Chestertown, MD/St. Andrew's) scored three goals and added two assists, while senior attacker Liz Holland (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales) also scored three goals. The win was No. 112 in head coach Janine Tucker's career, making her the winningest coach in the program's history.
Loyola, which defeated previous No. 1 Princeton, 9-8 in overtime, over the weekend, moved into the top spot and is followed by the Tigers, Maryland, Georgetown, and Duke. Cornell, Syracuse, Virginia, North Carolina, and James Madison round out the top 10.
Hopkins hosts Pennsylvania this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The Blue Jays then travel to No. 18 Ohio State Friday at 7 p.m. and to Ohio University Sunday at 12 noon for a pair of American Lacrosse Conference games.
