At The Polls: The Blue Jays were ranked sixth in this week's IWLCA Top 20 Poll, holding the same spot from the preseason poll. There was no movement in the top eight.

First Time For Everything: Last weekend Hopkins visited Princeton for the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The Blue Jays were looking for their first win over a team ranked higher than sixth, but lost 9-6.

Biles Shoulders The Load: Hopkins led 5-4 at halftime before Princeton's Lindsey Biles, who was questionable entering the game due to a shoulder injury, scored all four of her goals after the break to lead the Tigers to the 9-6 win.

Mixed Attack: Four different Blue Jays combined for the six goals, and six players tallied at least one point against Princeton. Mary Key led the team with four points (two goals, two assists) while Meagan Voight (two goals) was the only other multi-point scorer.

Different Halves: Hopkins scored five goals off 12 shots in the first half, but scored just once on 11 attempts in the second half. Princeton goalkeeper Sarah Kolodner saved seven of the Blue Jays' 11 second-half shots.

Golden Key: Key leads Johns Hopkins in goals (eight), assists (four), points (12) and draw controls (four). She had a career-high six goals in the season opener against Davidson.

Bench Points: Hopkins' substitute Sarah Walsh scored one goal against Princeton and is tied for second on the team in goals with three. Kirby Houck (one goal) is the only other non-starter to record a point so far this season.

More Threes: Voight and Anne Crisafulli also have three goals apiece and are tied for second in points (four), while Walsh and Lauren Schwarzmann are next in line with three points each.

The Dirty Work: Kadie Stamper leads Hopkins in draw controls with four, while Lacey-Leigh Hentz and Kelley Putnam are tied for the lead in ground balls with six apiece. Hentz has six caused turnovers, three more than the next player (Putnam) does.

Getting Offensive: Crisafulli matched her career-high with two goals and added an assist for a personal-best three points against Davidson. She has three goals this season, after she averaged five goals per year in her first three seasons at Hopkins.

Blue Jays And Buckeyes: Johns Hopkins travels to Ohio State this Friday, March 11, for its second American Lacrosse Conference (ALC) game of the year. The Blue Jays are 2-1 against the Buckeyes and won their last meeting 13-5 on March 12, 2004. Key scored five goals and added two assists in the win. Ohio State last defeated Hopkins 9-6 in 2003.

Home Field Advantage?: Johns Hopkins won both of its games against Ohio State at the Blue Jays' Homewood Field, and lost its only game at the Buckeyes' Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Hopkins looks for its first-ever win in Columbus, Ohio.

Eyes On The Buckeyes: Ohio State enters the game with the same record as Hopkins. The Buckeyes defeated Duquesne 14-2 and lost to Penn 8-7 in triple overtime. Penn led 4-2 at halftime before Ohio State rallied. Each team scored once in the first extra period and was scoreless in the second.

Players To Watch: Kelly Kremer is Ohio State's leading scorer with seven goals for seven points. Ashley Evans has three goals, while KC Carter and Brandie Williams each have two goals and an assist. Preseason All-ALC pick Regina Oliver has a team-high nine ground balls along with two goals, three draw controls and three caused turnovers. Oliver was also a preseason first-team All-America pick and is on the Tewaaraton Watch List.

Open Fire: Ohio State out-shoots its opponents 68-44. The Buckeyes had a 36-19 shot advantage on Penn, and edged Duquesne 32-25.

Busy Weekend: After playing Ohio State on Friday night, the Blue Jays visit Ohio University for a Sunday afternoon ALC matchup. Hopkins won all three of its meeting with the Bobcats, including a 12-4 rout last year.

Tracking The `Cats: Ohio, picked to finish fifth in the preseason ALC poll, is 0-3 with losses to Duquesne, 6-5, No. 20 Notre Dame, 16-10, and No. 3 Northwestern, 16-3. Sophomore attack Dana Dobbie leads the Ohio scoring with seven goals and two assist, while Shannon Hadaway is next with four goals.

The Dirt On Dobbie: A preseason All-ALC selection, Dobbie also leads Ohio is ground balls (six) and draw controls (seven). She is the only Bobcat named to the preseason All-America team; she was a second-team pick.

Fresh Faces: Hopkins starts three freshmen this year - one at attack, another at midfield and the third at defense. All eight of the rookies played against Davidson, and Lauren Schwarzmann led the crew with two goals off two shots.

Injury Report: Molly Burnett is out three to four weeks with an injured leg. She is a key reserve for the Blue Jays.

Jays In The Preseason: Hopkins was ranked sixth in two preseason polls - the IWLCA Poll and the Lacrosse Magazine Poll - while Inside Lacrosse slotted the Blue Jays at No. 7. In the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC) predictions, Johns Hopkins was picked second behind Northwestern.

Early Honors: Key and Hentz were named to the preseason All-ALC team, while Key was selected the preseason ALC Co-Player of the Year. Hentz earned preseason second-team All-America honors by Inside Lacrosse, and Key was named to the first team. Key earned a spot on the Tewaaraton Watch List.

Scoring Streaks: Key has scored a point in every game of her career at Hopkins, and has scored a goal in every game except the final game last year. Meagan Voight holds the current goal-scoring streak with a goal in the last eight games. She has scored at least one point in the last 12.

The Underdogs: Last year the Blue Jays defeated four ranked teams, three of which were ranked higher than them in the IWLCA Poll. The highest ranked team ever defeated by Hopkins was No. 6 Notre Dame (13-12, 4/23/04). The 2004 Blue Jays lost five games to ranked teams.

Flying High: The Jays were selected sixth in the preseason IWLCA Poll, the highest ranking in the seven-year history of the Johns Hopkins Division I program. Last year Hopkins was ranked as high as ninth and finished the year at No. 10.

Broken Record: Key finished the 2004 season with 52 goals, 22 assists and 74 points, setting the Johns Hopkins Division I single-season points record. The previous record was 72 points, set by Danielle Maschuci in 2000.

Streaking: The 2004 team set the program's Division I winning streak record when it won its first 10 games last year. The 1994 Division III Blue Jays started the season 16-0.

Head of the Class: This year's freshman class was ranked the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation by Inside Lacrosse, second only to Duke.
