BALTIMORE, MD - More honors are rolling in for junior attacker Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's). On Monday she was named the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week and the InsideLacrosse.Com National Player of the Week. Key was named the womenslacrosse.com Player of the Week on Sunday.

Key was instrumental in the Blue Jays' 8-7 upset victory Saturday over No. 3 Princeton. She tallied three goals on the day, including the first of the game just 2:12 into first quarter, to spark an early 5-0 run for Johns Hopkins. She also added three key assists in the contest, which tied a career high, as the Blue Jays held off the visiting Tigers for the win. Her third goal of the afternoon proved to be the game-winner.

The Blue Jays were rewarded for their upset win over Princeton. On Monday, Hopkins moved from #6 to a tie for #4 in the Bounce Entertainment/Inside Lacrosse Poll. On Tuesday, the Jays moved from #8 to a tie for #4 in the IWLCA and Lacrosse Magazine Polls. This is the highest ever ranking for the Blue Jay women since moving to the Division I ranks.

Hopkins returns to action on Friday, March 10 at 4:00 pm on Homewood Field. The Blue Jays host the Ohio Bobcats in their American Lacrosse Conference opener. Hopkins has won its last two ALC openers and is 4-0 against the Bobcats.
