Key And Hentz Named Preseason All-America By Inside Lacrosse
Feb. 3, 2005 BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins sophomore Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's) has been named a preseason first-team All-American and senior Lacey-Leigh Hentz (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) was selected to the second team, as announced by Inside Lacrosse magazine. Inside Lacrosse also released its preseason poll, where Hopkins earned the No. 7 spot. Key led the Blue Jays with 52 goals, 22 assists and 74 points, setting the school Division I record for points in a season. Hentz, a 2005 co-captain, has started at defense every year at Hopkins and is a three-time all-conference pick in the competitive American Lacrosse Conference. Key and Hentz earned second-team and third-team honors respectively at the end of the 2004 season. Defending champion Virginia earned the top spot in the preseason poll followed by Princeton, the 2004 runner-up. Northwestern, Duke, Georgetown and North Carolina were also ranked ahead of Hopkins.
