The Johns Hopkins women's fencing team lost all five of its dual meets at the Duke Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Jays fell to Stanford, 16-11, Duke, 21-6, Air Force, 19-8, North Carolina, 16-11, and Notre Dame, 25-2.
The JHU epee squad ended the day with 15 wins to finish in fourth place, and went 6-3 against Stanford. The Hopkins foil team also finished with 15 wins, including a 6-3 performance versus North Carolina. The Blue Jay sabre team ended the day with eight wins.
Notre Dame won the invitational with 112 wins, followed by Air Force (77), Duke (71), Stanford (62), North Carolina (45), and Hopkins (38).
The Blue Jays, who are now 9-15 this season, return to action Saturday when Hopkins travels to Haverford, PA, to take on the host Fords along with Yeshiva and Army.
