Blue Jays Place Fifth at NYU Invitational Sept. 18, 2004
NEW YORK, NY -- The Johns Hopkins men's cross country team turned in one of its finest performances in recent memory at the Blue Jays placed fifth out of 27 teams at the NYU Invitational Saturday morning. Johns Hopkins was the only Centennial Conference school in the 27-team field and amassed 176 team points to earn its fifth-place finish. The Blue Jays were led by a pack of runners who all ran personal-bests. Travis Koh was JHU's top finisher as he clocked in at 27:55.5 to earn a 15th-place finish. Eric Scrivner (33rd / 28:19.8), Andrew Bauerschmidt (42nd / 28:40.6), Patrick Brandon (47th / 28:49.2) and Jason Chiang (50th / 28:54.3) also placed in the top 50 in the 242-man field. Wesleyan took the overall team title with 50 points, while Washington & Lee (116), Augsburg (138) and Rowan (159) rounded out the top five. JHU actually tied with Vassar for fifth place as both teams had 176 points. - 30 - |
