Baltimore, MD - In the opening meet of the season, the Johns Hopkins men’s cross country placed five runners in the top ten, to win the Baltimore Metro Meet, the first time Johns Hopkins has ever won the meet.

Junior Gabe Tonkin (Santa Barbara, CA/San Marcos) paced all JHU runners finishing second with a time of 28:09. Sophomore Koh Travis (Horshaw, PA/Hatboro-Horshaw) was close behind finishing fourth with a time of 28:42. Junior Andrew Bauerschmidt (Carle Place, NY/Carle Place) rounded out the top five with a time of 28:42

The women’s team placed three runners in the top ten, good for a second place finish, trailing only Towson. Freshman Andela Kaon (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Rarifan) was the top finisher for the Blue Jays coming in fourth place in a time of 20:04.
