HAVERFORD, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team finished seventh at this weekend's Centennial Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Blue Jays finished with 77 points while Haverford College won the meet with 164 points and Muhlenberg was second with 113 points.

Senior Jason Dubyoski broke the school record in the decathlon with 5,282 points and finished third. Dubyoski broke his own school record in the event that he had set back in April at the Dickinson Multi-Meet. Freshman James Walker broke the freshman school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.10.

Freshman Nate Sotuyo broke the freshman record in the 800-meters with a time of 1:58.63 and finished sixth in the event. The 4x800 relay team of James Bronson, Noah Jampol, Phil Aiken and Sotuyo broke the school record in their event with a time of 8:00.10. The relay team finished sixth in its event. Gordon Mack, Jonathan Walker, Pierre Hage and James Walker finished third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:22.82.

Adam Waddell had a strong showing in the field events for the Blue Jays. He was second in the high jump with a leap of 1.95m and fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.27m. Junior Tristan Thomas had a strong weekend with a fourth place finish in the 100-meters (11.13) and fifth place finish in the 200-meters (22.51).
 

 

The Blue Jays are back in action on May 14th at the Jim Tuppney Invitational hosted by Villanova University.
