Final Stats

BALTIMORE - On the strength of five top finishes from Johns Hopkins athletes, the men's track and field team claimed second place at the McDaniel Twlight Meet, held Wednesday night (April 19) in Westminster, Md.

Among top performances for the Blue Jays, Matt Trachtenberg picked up points for Hopkins with a first-place height of 13' in the pole vault and a leap of 5'10" in the high jump, good for second place. Trachtenberg's height in the pole vault event was tops among Hopkins performers this season.

Other individual first-place finishes for the Blue Jays include a time of 50.53 in the 400 Meter Dash by Shane Olaleye and a time of 10:46.78 in the 300 Meter Steeplechase from Geoff Nunns. In the steeplechase event, four Hopkins finishers claimed all of the available points.

With 76 points, Johns Hopkins finished second among eight competing schools. McDaniel posted 109 points, taking wins on both the men's and women's side.
